What a remap does for a petrol Mercedes CL-class
Factory petrol calibrations leave margin for poor fuel and hot climates. A remap tunes the ignition, fuelling and boost maps to make better use of that margin, which shows up as livelier throttle response and stronger acceleration.
How the Mercedes Cl 500e 306 compares
Among the 8 petrol CL-class engines we have figures for, the Cl 500e 306 ranks 7th for power gain, 23 bhp below the CL-class petrol average of 53 bhp.
Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 30 bhp and 45 Nm sits at or above that benchmark.
