What a remap does for a petrol Jaguar S-type
Petrol engines are remapped by refining fuelling, ignition timing and, on turbocharged engines, boost control. Done carefully this releases performance the manufacturer left in reserve, giving sharper throttle response and a stronger top end.
How the Jaguar S-Type 2.5 V6 compares
Ranked by power gain against the other petrol S-type engines (5 in total), the 2.5 V6 is 2nd, 7 bhp above the S-type petrol average of 33 bhp.
Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 40 bhp and 75 Nm sits at or above that benchmark.
